Social purpose is at the heart of Great Places, and the group also provides specialist support to over 2,500 people across the North West and Yorkshire.  In 2021/22 Great Places delivered 557 new affordable homes with an additional 1,500 homes on-site and sold 228 homes for shared ownership. It also invested £90M into building new homes as well as running a wide range of projects and initiatives to benefit our customers and their communities.

Leanne Keane, Community and Partnerships Manager for Great Places Housing Group said: "Great Places is committed to investing in our communities by creating successful neighbourhoods and helping our customers to live well.  We are pleased to be working with Oldham Athletic Community Trust and Oldham Council in running their Youth Club at Honeywell Centre.  This demonstrates our commitment to our neighbourhoods and to creating strong sustainable communities. By engaging with local young people, we believe that we can influence their aspirations, which could help improve their longer-term employability outcomes and financial security. These young people could be our future customers and we are committed to help them achieve their goals."

Martin Vose, OACT Head Of Community, commented: “We are delighted to be working alongside Great Places Housing to support our weekly Monday provision, which we run in partnership with Oldham Youth Service. The funding from Great Places allows us to look ahead and plan long term, providing much needed re-assurance and security to the project and in turn the young people who attend.”
