Team Karting Event For Our Never Alone Project!

Oldham Athletic Community Trust (OACT) are holding an afternoon at Team Karting on Monday 29th November at 2.30pm as part of the “Never Alone” initiative. The afternoon is offered completely free of charge for people to attend, however booking in advance is a requirement.

TeamKarting has the highest rated karting track in the UK, it's the most challenging and the most exhilarating karting track in the North West with its combination of high-speed straights, fast bends and technical chicanes - you are going to love the thrill of the chase. TeamKarting also specialises in making motorsport more inclusive through the use of bespoke equipment from a 2 seater kart and hand controlled kart.

Never Alone

Oldham Athletic Community Trust is supporting academics at the universities of Leeds and Reading, and have successfully been awarded a grant from The Ideas Fund enabling an enhancement the Never Alone provision. The project focuses on providing activity for those either currently retired or approaching retirement, providing a social environment using the power of football to engage. Across six sessions the group will combine watching, and discussing historical Oldham Athletic football matches along with utilising local parks to stay physically active through scheduled group walks.

Across the afternoon attendees will learn more about the never alone initiative, ahead of the second cohort beginning in January, which for 2022 will focus on the theme of Oldham Athletics great escape from the Premier League in the 1992/1993 season. The project will combine watching old match footage with physical activity opportunities, providing a social group for participants.

To attend the event you must be either retired, or soon to be retiring.
